Veterans and Servicemembers of Massachusetts get their benefits through MassVetsAdvisor.

The Veterans living in Massachusetts are abundant and nearing 500,000. Massachusetts is a remarkable state when it comes to benefitting the brave men and women who have fought so hard for our freedom throughout the years. MassVetsAdvisor.org is an online source that serves the many Veterans of Massachusetts. It is a way for them to receive benefits, state and federal, for themselves and their families. MassVetsAdvisor.org provides them with a simple easy to use option to find the best programs and benefits that suits them.

This site includes several programs and benefits for Veterans. Many of the programs within the site that are available are family oriented, such as A Soldier’s Child Foundation. This foundation honors any children who have lost a parent in the service, letting them know that they are not forgotten and they are not alone. Another strong family oriented program is American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. This program honors mothers who have lost a child in the service. Gold Star Wives of America, Inc. is also a strong program which honors widows and widowers whose spouse died in the service. All of these programs provide individuals with purpose and comfort, in which they may have thought they’d never find again.

Additionally, there is a multitude of programs that do not strictly focus on families. Some of these programs include America’s Heroes at Work which helps the struggling Veterans returning to work who may suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Father Bill’s and MainSpring working to end homelessness in Southeastern Massachusetts, and the Psychological Health Program which provides individuals in emotional distress the mental help they deserve.

Some benefits that MassVetsAdvisor are assisting Veterans in finding are a Burial Allowance which reimburses part of the cost of a Veteran’s funeral and burial;  Categorical Tuition Waiver which assists Veterans and active duty Servicemembers in Massachusetts going back to further their education at the University of Massachusetts or a community college; Disability Benefits which is a compensation to Veterans who were injured or got sick during their service; Moving Forward which is an online education and life-coaching program that educates Veterans or Servicemembers and their families with problem solving skills.

The Massachusetts Broadband Institute, the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services, the Red Sox Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program have all collaborated to create MassVetsAdvisor. It was funded by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s State Broadband Initiative program, but the Massachusetts Broadband Institute and the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services maintain it. Massachusetts will continue to pull their resources to do their best in making Veterans, Servicemembers and all of their families comfortable and safe.
